Slow Food is proud to present one of its latest #snailofapproval recipients: Wunderbar Lamb

Australia’s first and only Humane Choice Certified lamb producer.

Rooted in the Clare Valley and guided by a deep respect for animals, land, and heritage, fifth generation farmer Ben Heinrich and his family are setting a new standard for ethical, sustainable lamb farming. Their lambs are raised completely free range, hormone-free, and without feedlots, shearing or tail docking.

Wunderbar Lamb was born from Ben’s desire to experiment with clean-skin, easy-care sheep - an unconventional move in the heart of merino country. Today, their flock of over 1500 Australian White ewes is a testament to this innovation.

The name Wunderbar — a nod to their German heritage — fittingly means “wonderful,”. Whether you pick up their lamb from Clare Valley butchers, IGAs or the Adelaide Central Market, there's no doubt you’re choosing Good, Clean and Fair food. Their lamb will also be showcased at this year's Clare Valley Festival of the Lamb from September 17-21.
